The 7 activities that your children should do outside of school

What after-school activities are the best for children and also the cheapest? We tell you all summarized in a scheme!

Sometimes we forget these basic activities, much cheaper and more enriching. Perhaps because we think it is obvious, that they are too basic... or because we simply do not realize that they are essential for our children.

We refer to activities that are so necessary for our children such as playing or getting bored. Look carefully at this diagram with the 7 basic activities that your children should do outside of school. Will you take them into account?

►Keep in mind this great scheme with the 7 activities that your children should do outside of school

Whether during the school season or on vacation, these are undoubtedly the best after-school activities that you can (and should) sign up for your child.

The idea, which comes from the Montessori school, seems perfect to print and always keep in mind. Because sometimes we forget the basic things. Faced with so much information, and so many fascinating activities for our child, it is increasingly difficult for us to focus on the important things.

►Without detracting from soccer, dance, music or painting, these other extracurricular activities are much more essential and much cheaper:

1. Participate in housework. It is not a proposal. It is practically an obligation. If children have rights, they also have obligations. And among them is collaborating at home.

These tasks do not suppose any punishment for them, but rather a reward. It has been shown that children who participate in household chores feel more valued and are much more independent, which contributes to increasing their self-esteem and improving their self-confidence.

2. Play. Play with dad, with mom, with the brothers. Play with friends, grandparents or uncles. Play with cousins and neighbors.

Play alone, because you can too. Playing, which also means (don't ever forget) learning.

3. Go or go out of the house. Go for a walk. Going out to the park, on a field trip or if possible… to the beach! Going on an excursion implies for the child to move, jump, run, discover, imagine.

4. Draw. Do you know how many benefits it has for a child to use their colored pencils? Your son does not have to be a Picasso. just use your imagination.

Painting makes him develop his fine motor skills, focus his attention, boost his patience, improve his self-esteem, imagine, believe, fantasize... Do you need more reasons to encourage him to draw?

5. Read. If we talked about the benefits of drawing, we can only surrender to the wonders of reading. Reading for a child means opening a huge door to learning.

Books are transmitters of values, emotions, vocabulary... They help children develop memory, attention, reading comprehension.

6. Getting bored. We tend to think that our child must be constantly busy with something. 'Don't get bored!'. So we schedule their schedule with hundreds of activities, we offer them thousands of toys, we turn on the television, we play with them to fill those few minutes they have left... Big mistake.

You know why? Because boredom is a fabulous idea generator. If you let your child get bored, you will be enhancing their creativity, their ability to invent and imagine. Don't you find it fascinating?

7. No TV, tablet or electronic devices in 24 hours every two days. Well, and here comes the most controversial and complicated activity to bear.

Yes, why deny it: today, the tablet and television are present in the lives of children every day of the week. We can't even imagine what life was like before, right? And if we try? What if we try to fill a whole day with other 'non-electronic' activities? What will happen? Let's try it!

► Doubts?

You know, if you have any doubts about the extracurricular activities that you should enroll your child in, or what activities you can take advantage of to fill their vacation days, take a look at this scheme for a while. And away doubts!
