This Friday, October 21, you are invited to the conference "Creating happy and creative children", given by Dr. Maureen Priestley. It will be at 5:00 p.m. at the primary facilities of the Millaray Montessori School. At the end of the talk, the recent qualifications will be delivered to the students of the establishment.

Maureen “Mimi” Priestley Ed.S., AACBIS director of Pasos Adelante, has worked in the field of Neuropsychology, special education, and bilingual education for 35 years. He was a national and international speaker in 16 countries.

Maureen has published 22 books in English and Spanish on language development, critical thinking, and assessment. He has dedicated himself to improving educational and psychological services for children and adults throughout America. He currently resides in Puerto Vallarta where he cares for his patients and provides them with national and international training programs.

Thinking skills are basic to the learning process, but can students learn to develop them and thus access higher levels of insight? The educational experience of almost two decades of Dr. Maureen Priestley (University of Arizona) both in schools in the United States and in Latin America, has shown her that it is not enough for students to acquire an accumulation of knowledge whose practical application is unlikely.

At present, the need for educators to develop critical thinking is palpable, and for the teaching of their techniques and strategies to be integrated in an integral way into educational programs at all levels. The teaching of critical thinking is that students are able to process, think and apply the information they receive to solve problems.
